The 10th World Championship Bodyguard-2019 and the 22nd Championship of Ukraine in all-around bodyguards, which were held in Kyiv the other day, have ended. The best bodyguards in the world became the multi-talented bodyguards from the Security Service of the President of Ukraine. The second place was won by the team of the State Security Service of the Republic of Moldova, and the third place was won by the team of the Special State Security Service of Georgia.
Next, the places in the international ranking were distributed as follows: the fourth – the men’s team of the State Security Office of Ukraine, the fifth – the team of the Security Service of the President of the Republic of Belarus, the sixth – the team of the Department of Security Police, the seventh – the team of the Personal Protection Unit of the Police of Serbia, the eighth – the team of the Federation of Bodyguards Romania, the ninth is the team of the Jordanian Royal Guard, the tenth is the team of the Federation of Bodyguards of Bulgaria, the eleventh is the team of the Federation of Bodyguards of China, the twelfth and thirteenth are the Romanian teams of Security Management and Beretta Protection, respectively.
In total, the competition took place over four days and brought together more than 120 participants under one roof. Traditionally, all-round bodyguards demonstrated their skill in six types of all-around: technique and tactics of VIP protection during foot escort, shooting competition, hand-to-hand combat, overcoming an obstacle course by car, providing medical aid and overcoming an obstacle course, as well as searching for “explosive” devices in the car 37 national and international judges were involved in the judging.
In parallel with Bodyguard-2019, the XXII Championship of Ukraine in all-around bodyguards was held, in which the team of the Security Service of the President of Ukraine automatically won the championship. The silver medalists were the athletes of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, and the bronze medalists were the team members of the State Security Office of Ukraine. Fourth place went to the team of the Security Police Department, fifth place to the women’s team of the State Security Administration of Ukraine, sixth place to the team of Center-A LLC, seventh place to the Federation of Tactical Shooting, eighth place to the team of the Armed Forces Guard of Ukrzaliznytsia JSC, ninth place to Odesa Federation of Bodyguards, the tenth – teams of OA “Vityaz Yug”, the eleventh and twelfth – men’s and women’s teams of the tax police of the Fiscal Service of Ukraine.
Although our countrymen’s bodyguards returned to Dnipro without winning places, they showed great endurance and tenacity in the fight for victory. In addition, Dnipropetrovsk athletes broke the record, becoming the youngest female and male debutant teams.
Oleksandr Bukhanovskyi, head of the Federation of Bodyguards of the Dnipropetrovsk region, addressed the sportsmen of the Dnipro tax police with a congratulatory speech: “Dear compatriots, like-minded bodyguards, I am proud that you represented our region at the 22nd Championship of Ukraine in all-around bodyguards. Your teams have shown real strength of spirit, daring to compete with the best of the best bodyguards of Ukraine! And thanks to your endurance and cohesion, you reached the finals and proved yourself and your service worthily. For most of you, this is your first competition. So welcome to you! I am sure that many more victories and lightning-fast achievements await you ahead. And we, from our side, are always ready to provide methodical assistance and coaching resources for quality training.”
For your information, the Federation of Bodyguards of the Dnipropetrovsk Region is today one of the oldest members of the organization and one of the youngest members of the regional branch of the professional association of bodyguards. Over 15 years, more than one generation of high-class professionals in the field of personal protection, masters of sports of Ukraine, judges of national and international categories of all-around bodyguards has grown up here. Quality regulation of the regional security market, combating crime, and resocialization of military pensioners and former employees of law enforcement agencies remain the constant priorities for BFDR.
