Members and guests of the Federation of Bodyguards of the Dnipropetrovsk Region are taking part in bodyguard competitions currently taking place in Cherkasy.
This year, the BFDR did not prepare a team for the competition, but together with the delegates, the bodyguard championship is attended by guests – a representative of the Donetsk Law Institute, Volodymyr Golyk, and a geographer, founder of the 48 Parallel Active Recreation Club, Anton Kylymchuk.
“Unfortunately, it was physically impossible for the teams to prepare for the conditions our partners were exposed to due to the pandemic in the world and the quarantine measures it brought to Ukraine. However, difficult times strengthened our understanding of the correct vectors of organizational development. First of all, this is the promotion of the sport of bodyguards among the population categories that receive a military or sports profession. After all, the all-around of bodyguards is about legal and dignified professional paths, about a morally healthy community and, of course, about a high culture of handling weapons. In order to get acquainted with our kind of sport, we invited Volodymyr Golyk, who is a teacher of the department of tactical-special and pre-medical training of the DUI, to participate in the competition. Another interesting direction, which is certainly gaining momentum now, is the training of the civilian population in personal safety and active countermeasures against crime. Since the spring of 2020, we have created a collaboration with Dmytro Romanyuk’s “Discipline” school of practical shooting. Now we are considering the possibility of cooperation with the club of active recreation “48 parallel”. There is an idea of starting a survival school. After all, all-around bodyguards and tourist sports have similar goals: to survive, protect life and health, and lead an active lifestyle. That is why Anton Kylymchuk is with us now. I believe that our cooperation will bear generous fruits and will be useful for our compatriots,” said Oleksandr Bukhanovskyi, head of BFDR.
FYI, last year the Dnipropetrovsk region was represented by two teams at once – men’s and women’s teams of the tax police of the Fiscal Service of Ukraine. Although our countrymen’s bodyguards returned to Dnipro without winning places, they showed great endurance and tenacity in the fight for victory. In addition, the Dnipropetrovsk athletes broke the record, becoming the youngest debutant women’s and men’s teams.
