On September 26, the 23rd Championship of Ukraine in all-around bodyguards began on the basis of the Training Center of the DPS of Ukraine named after Major General Ihor Momot.
The opening ceremony of the championship began with a moment of silence. The memory of those killed in the An-26 crash and all servicemen tragically killed in the line of duty was commemorated.
10 teams of state and private structures took part in this year’s competition: the Department of Personal Protection of the UDO of Ukraine, the Department of Protection of Objects of the UDO of Ukraine, the Bulat special unit of the UDO of Ukraine, the Department of the Security Police of Ukraine, the NABU of Kyiv, the NABU of Kharkiv, the State Criminal – the Executive Service of Ukraine, the Mykolaiv Bodyguard Federation, the Cherkasy Bodyguard Federation and the Center for Special Purposes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The participants have already shown their skills in four disciplines. The top three for providing medical assistance to a person under protection is as follows: 1st place – team of the Bulat special unit of the UDO of Ukraine, 2nd place – team of the Department of Personal Protection of the UDO of Ukraine, 3rd place – team of the State Criminal Enforcement Service of Ukraine. The leaders in hand-to-hand combat and foot escort were: 1st place – the team of the Department of Protection of Objects of the UDO of Ukraine, 2nd place – the team of NABU of Kyiv, 3rd place – the team of the Department of Personal Protection of the UDO of Ukraine. Search for explosive devices: 1st place – the team of the Department of the Security Police of Ukraine, 2nd and 3rd place were shared by the teams of the Department of Personal Protection and Security of UDO objects of Ukraine. The results of overcoming the obstacle course by car: 1st place – the team of the Security Police Department, 2nd place – the team of the Department of Personal Protection of the UDO of Ukraine, 3rd place – the team of the NABU of Kyiv.
Tomorrow there will be a shooting competition, which will determine which of the participants will get the winner’s cup.
